Veteran Freedom Sign

village of bourbonnais veterans freedom signOlivet Nazarene University (ONU) and the Village of Bourbonnais joined forces to provide the Freedom Sign on May 2nd, 2009. The electronic sign honors local military personnel, both current and veteran, and serves as a reminder of the sacrifices from hometown heroes.

Located on South Main Street (US Route 45/52) in front of the ONU ROTC building, the three-sided Freedom Sign displays a continuous stream of names including grade, military branch, area of operations, dates of service and service branch anniversary. It is visible to all who pass by the for recognition and remembrance of those who’ve served in the United States Armed Forces.

The sign is updated by ONU and the ROTC.
