The Village of Bourbonnais is seeking a Staff Accountant. This position will report to the Finance Director. Duties include general ledger maintenance, reconciling account balances, journal entries, monthly closing and preparing financial statements. Other duties will include bank reconcilements, assisting in the annual audit and overseeing the utility billing function.
The desired qualified candidate must have knowledge of general accounting principles and automated financial management systems, be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and have great written and oral communication skills. Previous governmental accounting experience is strongly desired.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field. CPA Designation is a plus.
