National acts announced for village’s sesquicentennial celebration
Bourbonnais Food Truck Fest, presented by Brandon Casey’s Comfort Crew, rolls into the village, Saturday, August 16, from noon to 10 p.m. Hosted by the Village of Bourbonnais, the fifth annual event has evolved into over 20 food trucks at The Grove – the new 12.5-acre, all-season cultural, recreational and economic hub located at Goselin Park 700 Main St. NW.
New this year, Food Truck Fest will feature a free concert celebrating the Village of Bourbonnais’ Sesquicentennial (1875-2025). Commemorating the occasion will be an ode to the decades with nationally renowned band, Maggie Speaks, performing with national celebrity entertainers, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., including:
- ‘60s = The Temptations – Barrington ‘Bo’ Henderson & Glenn Leonard, former lead singers
- ‘70s = Kansas – John Elefante, former lead singer
- ‘80s = Starship – Mickey Thomas, lead singer
- ‘90s = Smash Mouth – Zach Goode, lead singer

From 1 p.m to 8 p.m., Food Truck Fest will feature a Family Fun Day in the kidz zone with free nostalgic activities such as three-legged races, potato sack races, an egg drop, limbo, a watermelon-eating contest, a hula hoop contest, balloon artists, facepainting, chalking the Children’s Safety Center walk, a coloring contest and more.

Bourbonnais Food Truck Fest + Sesquicentennial Concert will be held rain or shine. Limited seating will be available for outdoor eating and viewing the entertainment. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to enjoy the festivities on the Village Green event lawn. Outside coolers are not permitted.
