Bourbonnais, IL – The Village of Bourbonnais released its “Sizzlin’ Summer 2022” June schedule of events. The lineup includes community favorites such as Yoga in the Park, Movies in the Park and the unofficial kick off to summer with the 47th year of the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival. All events are free for the public and registration is not required.

Saturday, June 11, join the Village of Bourbonnais and Olive Branch Yoga for Yoga in the Park 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. in Goselin Park – 394 William Sr. Latham Dr. Sponsored by Aqua Illinois, Belson Steel Center, ComEd and Stacked Nutrition, outdoor yoga will consist of a sweet fusion flow with a slower gear to take in your natural surroundings and sounds. Yoga instructor, Anna Krause, will guide the Saturday morning experience for all yoga levels. Participants are reminded to bring a yoga mat, towel, water and a friend! Please arrive 15 minutes early.

Friday, June 17, join the Village of Bourbonnais and Bourbonnais Public Library District for Movie in the Park featuring “Sing 2”. The PG-rated film will premiere at dusk (approximately 8:30 p.m.) at Goselin Park – 394 William Sr. Latham Dr – and is sponsored by Aqua Illinois, Belson Steel Center, ComEd, Fieldstone Credit Union, King Music and Peoples Bank of Kankakee County. Free popcorn will be available while supplies last. Attendees are reminded to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Come early and color with the Bourbonnais Public Library District.

Wednesday, June 22 – Sunday, June 26, the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival returns with this year’s theme: “Unplug, Connect, Play: Game On 2022”. The five-day event includes a carnival, food and retail vendors, beverage garden, live entertainment, contests, parades, talent showcases, fireworks and much more. Presale carnival tickets are now available at a 33 percent discount before the event. Visit bourbonnaisfriendshipfestival.com for ticket locations and a full schedule of events.

“As we progress toward the Community Campus construction this fall, we look forward to not only continuing these type of events, but providing more opportunities to gather residents and welcome visitors to Bourbonnais and Kankakee County,” said Mayor Paul Schore.

July and August events are to be announced. “I’m leaving Bourbonnais in a little suspense,” explained Casey who oversees the village’s marketing, public information and events. “The biggest question I get is if the Bourbonnais Food Truck Fest will be returning...”
