The Village of Bourbonnais is seeking a Police Support Services Technician.
This position will report to the Police Services Supervisor. Duties include clerical and administrative work in support of police operations, processing FOIA requests and reports, reporting to various agencies, coordinating records requests and handling incoming phone calls and inquiries from the public. Strong data entry skills, ability to write reports and correspondence with accuracy and completeness desired. Other duties may include receiving payments, balancing a cash drawer and managing cases for adjudication.
The desired qualified candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, have the ability to learn software applications related to the field of law enforcement (New World Records Management System, Kankakee County GIS and IDOT electronic records system) and have great written and oral communication skills. Candidate will also have the ability to obtain LEADS Certification. FOIA experience strongly desired.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 20 hours college credit, in addition to two (2) years of related work experience or combination of experience and education. Candidate will also have and maintain a valid Illinois Driver’s License and pass a fingerprint criminal background investigation and drug screening.
This is a full-time, hourly position with a generous benefits package and Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund participation.
The salary range of this position is negotiable depending on qualifications, within the budgetary range of $52,000-$57,000 annually.
