World's largest booking sharing movement now next to Municipal Center pond

Bourbonnais, IL - The Village of Bourbonnais is excited to partner with the Bourbonnais Public Library and bring to the community a second location for a "Little Free Library". The Little Free Library is located in front of the Bourbonnais Police Department (near the Municipal Center pond). A big thank you to our Friends of the Bourbonnais Library volunteer organization for making this project possible!

Library Director Kelly McCully, states “The Little Free Library is an extension of the Bourbonnais Public Library’s mission: Connecting our community with the resources to grow, learn and discover. It is a way for our community to interact with books, and it promotes literacy throughout the Village of Bourbonnais and surrounding areas.”

Mayor Paul Schore is excited to have the village host this location saying, "this is a centralized location for residents to utilize this free program. We are pleased to partner with the Bourbonnais Public Library and encourage literacy and connectivity in our community."

Not sure what the Little Free Library is? Here’s some information: Our Little Free Library will house a collection of books for all ages. Residents can take a book or give a book to the LFL. The LFL is made from solid pine by Amish carpenters in Wisconsin. It is designed to withstand the changing seasons of the Midwest. The LFL was purchased through a $700 donation from the Friends of the Bourbonnais Library.

The Little Free Library will be filled weekly with an assortment of books from different genres so that anyone who visits the Little Free Library can walk away with something they want to read. This is the second LFL in the Bourbonnais area. The other Bourbonnais Little Free Library is located in front of the Exploration Station at the Perry Farm Park.
