In order to more efficiently serve the 18,700 residents of the Village of Bourbonnais, the Board of Trustees have established a number of permanent committees. Each trustee serves on a number of committees including, but not limited to, Administration, Community & Economic Development, Finance, Police, Public Works and Utility Committees.

The Village of Bourbonnais operates under the council/administrator form of government. The Village Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer of the village and is responsible for the day-to-day operations. The administrator is appointed by the Village President and the Board of Trustees.
