The Village of Bourbonnais operates under the Council/Administrator form of government. The Village Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Village, and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Village.
Building Department / Code Enforcement
The Bourbonnais Building Department is responsible for overseeing all construction and development activity in the Village of Bourbonnais.
The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the more than 70 miles of roadways within the Village. This includes, but is not limited to repairing potholes, resurfacing of streets, and repairing curbs and public sidewalks.
The Village of Bourbonnais is responsible for the sanitary sewer collection system within the community. Currently, there are over 95 miles of underground sanitary sewers and 17 lift stations in the collection system.

The Finance Department is responsible for collecting and accounting of all funds received and expended by the Village, maintaining the financial investments of the Village, and providing information to the Mayor, Board of Trustees, Village Administrator and Department Heads as to the status of these funds.
The Village of Bourbonnais maintains over 100 acres of parkland throughout the Village. The parks offer a myriad of activities from passive to active, including basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic shelters, bike trails and river access.
