Sanitary Sewer
Village of Bourbonnais
600 Main Street
Bourbonnais, IL

New residents need to call the Village at (815)933-1676 to arrange for sewer bills. Sewer bills are mailed monthly to the more than 6,000 customers in the system.

At its June 5 meeting, the Village Board heard first reading on increases of its sewer and garbage services.  The rate adjustments are necessary to keep up with costs.  The last increase for either sewer or garbage service was in 2014.  The Village Board will take the matter up for final approval at its June 19 meeting.  The rate increase is expected to be effective on the July billing statement.

As proposed, the sewer rate adjustment will go from $34.25 to $37.25. “The sewer rate increase is related to the capital improvements at the Kankakee River Metropolitan Agency (KRMA) treatment plant as well as the escalated costs to process the waste,” Mayor Schore explained, “The rate increase for the sewer is directly attributable to the added cost associated with the $50 million reconstruction of the KRMA plant being paid by the Villages of Bourbonnais Bradley and Aroma Park, and the City of Kankakee.”

The refuse rate will go from $19.25 to $22.25.  “The Village has absorbed the last two years of rate increases from Republic Services and the Board feels it is time to adjust refuge rates to the current cost,” states Mayor Schore.
