Our Police Chief of 31 years Joe Beard retired his position. In his honor, a scholarship fund was established that will enable one or two students each year from the Kankakee Career Center to receive a scholarship amount of at least $500.00 from this fund for continuing their education in the field of Criminal Justice. The Joe Beard Scholarship will be a onetime stipend for the student to pay room and board, books, or tuition at the University of their choice. It is our hope to get enough donations to secure funding not only this year but for years to come.
