The Office of
the Village Administrator and the Administration Department are located
in the Village Hall, 700 Main Street NW, Bourbonnais. Hours are Monday
through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Village of Bourbonnais
operates under the Council/Administrator form of government. The Village
Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Village, and
is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Village. Appointed
by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees,
the Village Administrator is responsible for a myriad of activities,
including, but not limited to the following:
to prepare an annual budget for consideration by the Board
to administer
the budget and to recommend such budget control procedures as may be
necessary and appropriate
to establish
and maintain a centralized personnel records system for the entire village
to prepare
and recommend to the Mayor and Board of Trustees an employee evaluation
program, and to administer that program as a continuous ongoing program
to identify training needs and ascertain existing competency levels.
to assist
the Mayor and Board of Trustees in the development of a comprehensive
economic development plan
to initiate
programs to update the Village’s Comprehensive Plan
to establish
short and long range planning capacities for land use, budget, capital
facilities and government operations
to establish
and maintain liaison relationships with other levels and units of government
to identify
current state and federal funding sources and to ascertain the Village
eligibility for same

for the Village includes the Village Administrator, Executive Secretary/Administrative
Assistant, and Benefits Coordinator.
